Branded marketplace for hydraulic equipment dealers
Creation of a new sales channel with geo-dependent storefronts and a distribution system between dealers.
Customer
The Denmark-based company is a huge platform for hydraulic equipment manufacturers, with operations in 56 countries. The company established a network of dealers to manage its operations across such a vast geographic expanse. To bolster its position in the new market and increase sales volumes, the client turned to us for help developing a marketplace.
Challenge
The company envisioned a marketplace that would resemble a conventional online store for hydraulic equipment buyers but operate internally as a multi-vendor marketplace. The goal was to enhance the brand and create the impression that customers were purchasing products directly from the manufacturer, although dealers would handle sales, shipping, and delivery.
Solution
The Simtech Development team proposed launching the application on the CS-Cart Business platform for marketplaces, a multi-vendor format. Thanks to its functionality, the project can be easily scaled to other countries by creating additional language showcases for them. Our development team also configured the site interface, automatic detection of user geolocation, geo-dependent storefronts, and ordering logic. At the same time, we expanded integration with third-party services: 1C, SDEK, and YuKassa. We implemented the customer’s business idea during development: the B2C marketplace was launched and visually resembled a regular online store. However, inside it was organized as an automated system for shipping goods from the warehouses of hundreds of dealers.
