Sugarplate.com is a very ambitious start-up that aims to gather US bakers and bakeries in one place on the multi-vendor platform. It allows US citizens to order sweets and bakery from a vendor which is close enough to the customer’s location to deliver fresh goods.

Design creation
The look of the baked goods on the marketplace should create the “mouth-watering” craving to induce the customer to make an order. So the imagery and design have become a priority.
We’ve decided to create a simple, light, airy and user-friendly design for fast and convenient browsing. The store appearance focuses customers on the product itself without unnecessary distraction. Only search, view and purchase.
Moreover, design has to be functional to organize visitors and grant additional options. We implemented order customization features. The customers can choose the product colour, fillings and extras.
They can also pick a convenient delivery date.
To help customers do the search by occasion or dietary preferences products were organized by main categories and subcategories. We also added dynamic filters.
And if the customer wants to search a bakery by geographical location there is a fast search form on homepage and on each product page. You start typing in a location and choose from provided variants.
Vendor products page enrichment
Vendors are, first of all, gastronomic artists. They bake with love and passion. They would love to have their unique page on the marketplace to stand out with their own style. Personalization and customization of the Vendor products page was enriched, allowing vendors to add banners.
Geolocation implementation
To make sure that the delivered product is as fresh as possible, we introduced a geolocation feature to determine location of customers and vendors. Any vendor can pin the location of their bakery or physical store on the Google map. Before making a purchase the customers can see how far their order will travel in miles from door to door. They can also find the closest vendors
Billing and Taxing
Marketplace is a serious business and it should provide vendors and customers with safe, reliable and simple automatic billing system with taxing.
We’ve implemented a user-friendly PayPal billing system with “Sales tax” modifications. Customers and vendors will see the final charges and payouts without necessity to count taxes.
